Comcast is a terrible company, I can’t stand them. I just signed the lease on my office and called to get internet setup. Price? $95 a month. What a ripoff. I think I pay $42.95 for my home internet. Granted, I also have digital cable and such, so the normal price would be $57.95 or so if I was going to not get cable tv.
I asked if there was a cheaper plan, and this one was the entry level, I had no other options. They charge close to $40 more a month just because they’re dealing with a business. What a load of crap.
I then asked when it could be setup, and the first available date was longer than I wanted to wait, so I asked to install myself. They don’t allow self-installations on business accounts. They tried to spin this to me as a positive thing. They said that they wanted to make sure it was installed correctly so that there were no problems for me later. They told me they installed so I could “focus on doing the important things like running my business”. The problem is, running my business requires the internet! I also get 7 complimentary e-mail addresses with my account. Whoopty doo(sarcasm).
I tell you why they won’t let me install it myself, it’s because they want to install all their crappy software on my computer. Whenever they have come to my house in the past, the cable guy usually tells me the software really doesn’t need to be installed, so I always have told them not to put it on my computer.
I’ve always hated Comcast, but now I hate them more. In fact, screw them, I’m cancelling and getting DSL.

28|Apr|2007 2Have been having problems with my cable, I have to jiggle it and power cycle my modem to get comcast broadband to work. I reported this problem via online chat with comcast. They agreed that a technician should come out, however, they were unable to open a ticket to schedule a technician due to an outage in my area…. funny thing was I was online chatting with them and they are saying there is an outage… could not convince them to open up a ticket for a repair person…
comcasts policies are just stupid.
